Film: Bridesmaid­s, ITV2, 9pm

Comedy starring Kristen Wiig (left). When Lillian gets engaged, she asks lifelong pal Annie to be her maid of honour. However, Annie’s life is in a mess, and she finds herself losing control over the bacheloret­te party to Lillian’s seemingly perfect new friend Helen. This hilarious romp through tribal-bridal culture is spiked with outrageous scenes that show off Wiig’s superb comic timing, while Melissa McCarthy shines as the awkward but lovable bridal party oddball.

Lifestyle: Gardeners’ World, BBC2, 8pm

Adam Frost travels to Dublin to meet world-famous musician Adam Clayton (above with Frost), from rock band U2, who, when having a break from playing bass guitar, likes to spend time in his garden. Monty Don is repairing turf, sowing sweetcorn and planting pots to produce heady evening fragrances this summer. And there’s a visit to Arundel Castle in West Sussex to marvel at its stunning tulip display.

Comedy: Dinosaur, BBC1, 10.40pm

First episode of this offbeat treat which follows Nina (co-creator Ashley Storrie), an autistic paleontolo­gist who lives in Glasgow with her sister Evie (Kat Ronney, left with Storrie). The reality TV-watching, takeaway-scoffing pair have honed a happy routine. But when Evie rushes into an engagement with her boyfriend of six weeks, Ranesh, Nina finds her ordered life turned upside down. Despite having never having met Ranesh, Nina decides to give him a chance, however she is concerned about the way Evie acts around him. This six-part series is a playful, poignant portrayal of sisterhood and romance. Look out for David Carlyle (aka Gloria from It’s A Sin) as Nina and Evie’s erratic brother.

Nature: Springtime On The Farm, C5, 8pm

In the final episode of this heartwarmi­ng series, Helen Skelton and Jules Hudson cover all the drama of a day at Cannon Hall Farm as there are births all around, including Bonnie the Highland cow who goes into labour early, and Penelope who pops out her piglets. Meanwhile, JB Gill embraces the spring blooms at Kew Gardens, and Jules Hudson heads back to carpentry school to fulfil a lifelong ambition.

Film: Dark Waters, BBC2, 11.05pm

Riveting drama based on an alarming true story, starring Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway (right). Corporate defence lawyer Robert Bilott is approached with evidence that seems to connect the DuPont chemical corporatio­n to a spate of farm animal infections, disabiliti­es and deaths. As the case builds over the next several years, Bilott’s job becomes ever tougher. But with the revelation that human lives are at stake, too, his resolve only grows.
