Adult film star and ex-president’s lawyer clash in court

PORN star Stormy Daniels yesterday told a New York court that “nobody would ever want to publicly say” that they had sex with Donald Trump.

The adult films actress hit back at questioning from the former president’s lawyer as she was being crossexamined in the businessman’s hush money criminal trial.

Attorney Susan Necheles said Ms Daniels, 45, took money for interviews: “Even though you had agreed you would not discuss this supposed story and you received a lot of money for that agreement, you then decided that you wanted to publicly say that you had sex with Donald Trump.”

Phoney

She replied it was not the case and “nobody would ever want to publicly say that”, adding she felt she needed to speak out after Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen began sharing the tale.

Ms Daniels said that she had not made money from a 60 Minutes interview on TV network CBS.

Ms Necheles asked Ms Daniels about her time in adult movies. The actress said she directed 150 sex films, “give or take”, to which the lawyer said: “You have a lot of experience making phoney stories about sex.”

Ms Daniels hit back: “Wow. That’s not how I would put it.

“The sex in the films is very much real, just like what happened to me in that room,” referring to her alleged time in Trump’s hotel room at a 2006 golf tournament.

Ms Necheles asked if she had much experience memorising fiction and the actress retorted: “If that story was untrue, I would’ve written it to be a lot better.”

The lawyer implied Ms Daniels was incapable of being shocked by the sight of Trump in his underwear as she has been in so many adult films.

She added: “Seeing a man in T-shirt and boxers was so offending that you got light-headed and nearly fainted?”

Ms Daniels replied: “Yes. It was Mr Trump on the bed, an older man sitting there. I was not expecting him to be there.” When asked if she wanted money from Trump, Daniels said, “No” and that she “never asked for money” from him or anyone else.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records.

The case centres upon the allegation of a $130,000 (£104,000) payment to Ms Daniels by Cohen to prevent her claims of a sexual encounter with Trump surfacing in the 2016 election.

Prosecutors claim Trump repaid his lawyer and obscured the nature of such payments in internal business documents.

He denied having a sexual encounter with Ms Daniels.

If found guilty, he could face up to four years in jail.

The trial continues.
