Maryam d’Abo’s TV comeback offers a poignant explanation of why she’s been off our screens. The former Bond girl suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2007 and only now is she well enough to talk about her road to recovery. In Rupture: Living With My Broken Brain, Maryam, 51 (left), says, ‘It’s been a very challenging five years but I hope the film offers a sense of hope to those affected by brain disease and injury.’ London-born Maryam shot to fame as Kara Milovy in the 1987 Bond movie The Living Daylights (right). Her last big role for British TV was as Amalia Guishar in ITV’s drama Dr Zhivago in 2002. She’ll also guest star in the ITV thriller Thirteen Steps Down later this year.
