WHO’S WHO: Suits

As the smart, sharply scripted US legal drama Suits returns for a new, second season (9pm, Dave),

here’s a quick guide to where the main characters stand…

1) Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) Impeccably styled steam roller of a lawyer who kicked off season one with a promotion to senior partner, and the need for an apprentice to share the load. Bored by all the bland CVs that were crossing his desk, he wound up hiring Mike Ross, a near-criminal whiz kid with a fake law degree ( 2). Harvey may seem loyal, but he’s also an egomaniac and a survivor, so it remains to be seen whether he’ll protect Mike should this fraud be exposed. For now, the two make a great team.

2) Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) At the start of season two, the changing politics at the firm threaten to expose Mike’s fraudulent position. His mouth isn’t helping – the brain may be brilliant, but the vocals need a filter. 3) Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) Jessica is the fierce managing partner of Pearson Hardman, and saw promise in Harvey ( 1) at an early age. She paid for him to go to law school, and he’s been loyal to her ever since. 4) Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) A senior partner and Harvey’s closest rival at the firm, Louis worships the chain of command – chiefly because it allows him to take out his frustrations on the underlings, including Mike ( 2).
