Sarah White played one of the great matriarchs of Brookside – fun-loving Bev Dixon. Between 1993 and 2003 Sarah starred in 130 episodes of the Merseyside soap, ending up by marrying Ron Dixon (right). The Liverpool-born actress last appeared on our screens in an episode of Doctors in 2004 and returns in another episode of the medical drama as patient Jill Wythe, who is about to undergo a mastectomy (left). Sarah, 44, has appeared in the last two pantomimes at The Brindley in Runcorn, Cheshire, as a wicked stepmother and a fairy, and in 2008 opened a children’s clothes shop with her sister Antonia.
