Friday, 9pm, BBC2 Orangutans: The Great Ape Escape reports on a pioneering project to release orphaned orangutans back into the wild. But, after years of living in luxury in their sanctuary (run by Lone Droscher Nielsen, right), will the apes learn to fend for themselves and settle down to a new life in the jungle?

Friday, 9.30pm, BBC1 Adil Ray (second left) returns with a new series of the sitcom built around his bravura performanc­e as Mr Khan, family man and self-styled ‘community leader’. Pompous, self-serving, but essentiall­y ridiculous and rather sweet, Mr Khan this week decides to sort out his daughter’s education. Is this wise?
