Banks (Stephen Tompkinson), DI Morton and DS Cabbot (Caroline Catz and Andrea Lowe) – plus new boy Vince (Samuel Anderson) – follow the leads until the victim’s connection to a local crime boss sheds troubling new light on the investigation. But before too long, there’s another body…

The Great British Bake Off

8PM, BBC1 Find out who’s getting their mixers in a twist as, in episode two of the seventh season of the hugely popular contest, the amateur bakers face more devilish challenges set by Paul and Mary. It’s still too early for the real star bakers to show consistency, but everyone’s hoping to keep their bottoms dry and their batter smooth.

8PM, ITV Phillip Schofield quizzes more celebrities about their partners as they try to win £30,000 for charity. Lifting the lid on their relationships in this first episode are Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas and his fiancee, Caroline, married Strictly dancers Kevin and Karen Clifton, and Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender and his wife, Michele.

Great Canal Journeys

8PM, CH4 For the final episode of their enchanting series, Timothy West and Prunella Scales take perhaps their most personal and poignant trip yet. In its 200th anniversary year, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, which wends its way across the Pennines and through the Dales, takes Tim and Pru back to their northern roots.
