PICK OF THE DAY
Cold Feet
9PM, ITV One of the show’s great mysteries is how David has endured the past 13 years with the vile and comically one-dimensional Robyn – she clearly loathes him now, and didn’t even seem that fond of him when they first got together, in the old series. Food Unwrapped: The Truth About Sugar
8PM, CH4 What happens to our brains when we eat artificial sweeteners? Kate Quilton submits herself to a scan in order to find out in tonight’s report. Meanwhile, Jimmy Doherty jets off to Mauritius to learn whether brown sugar is healthier than white. Could he not just ask a nutritionist?
Ripper Street
9PM, BBC2 The killing of a top ironworker – and football player – leads Drake and Reid into the tough world of an iron foundry, where boys are turned into men. But what kind of men? The ensuing investigation drives a small but significant wedge between the pair, one that the degenerate Jackson swiftly spots – and gleefully pokes.
First Dates
10PM, CH4 This very watchable dating series returns for a new run and its Australian counterpart is back, too – on Tuesday at 10pm on E4. Tonight, could PR Lorna be the ‘unicorn’ that Charlie has been seeking? We also have a date between two Team GB Olympians – they could be the next Laura Trott and Jason Kenny…
