This new, eight-part mystery ladles on the intrigue in its busy opening episode. The CID of a Cheshire village police force respond to a brutal murder that takes place in a children’s playground; a key witness, a New Age cafe owner (Lesley Sharp), latches on to troubled detective Bobby Day (Robert Glenister). The killer is identified as a local man who has schizophrenia, but the case takes a surprise turn when Bobby receives an anonymous tip, which leads to Germany. Meanwhile, a mystery man claiming to be a detective also appears to be on the case…

Tonight, he meets a couple who want to turn an ugly Army truck into a mobile holiday home, and finds a bath with a spectacular view.

9PM, CH4 Returning for a second run is the reality series that is part chase thriller and part social experiment. Ten volunteers try to evade a team of search experts, who have surveillance technology, cybertracking, helicopters and drones at their disposal. This time, there’s a prize pot of £100,000 as an incentive for the fugitives to go the distance.
