Adios, Sabata (1970) 12 3.05PM, SPIKE Full-blooded spaghetti western action, of the kind that inspired Quentin Tarantino to make Django Unchained (Friday, 10pm, Ch5). Yul Brynner takes over from Lee Van Cleef as mercenary Sabata, the anti-hero of this sequel in which greed soon turns into revenge.

Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs (2009) U 8PM, E4 This animated franchise shows no sign of slowing down – a fifth instalment was released this summer and a sixth hasn’t been ruled out. Here, Manny (below) becomes a dad, while Sid adopts three eggs, which hatch a big surprise.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) 15

10PM, ITV4 An addictive sequel to a great original, with Arnold Schwarzenegger now on the side of the angels as a good-guy cyborg sent back from the future to protect Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and her son John from an upgraded bad cyborg determined to finish the job.

Devil’s Knot

(2013) 15 10.40PM, FILM4 Harrowing true-crime story, about a case that rocked a working-class Arkansas town in 1993. Reese Witherspoon (below) stars as the mother of one of three eight-year-old boys who were brutally murdered. The drama focuses equally on the teenage suspects who went to court.

The Devil’s Rejects (2005) 18 10.55PM, HORROR The work of Rob Zombie is not for everyone, but this sequel to his 2003 film House Of 1000 Corpses put him on the map, for horror fans at least. This is sadistic and grisly, but told with a cool flair that makes it supremely watchable.

The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009) 12 1.15AM, CH4 Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana star in an adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s bestseller about a time traveller who falls in love, but can’t stay in one place for long. The kind of farfetched silliness that might be strictly for fans.
