DRAMA

Victoria/National Treasure ITV HUB/ALL 4 Both dramas came to a close last week. Peter Firth was on entertainingly villainous form in the finale of Victoria, as the Queen prepared to give birth, while in National Treasure, it was the day of reckoning for disgraced comedian Paul Finchley (Robbie Coltrane).

Thirteen BBC iPLAYER Covering similar ground to series two of The Missing, this gripping, five-part BBC3 thriller opens with the escape of a woman who was apparently held in a cellar for 13 years.

COMEDY

Miranda Hart: My, What I Call, Live Show BBC iPLAYER A fun mix of stories, audience chat and song and dance make up Hart’s live show. After this, try watching Morgana Robinson’s impression of her in The Agency (also on iPlayer).

DOCUMENTARY

The Victorian Slum BBC iPLAYER ITV’s Victoria showed us the glamorous side of the period, and this BBC2 series does the opposite. A group of volunteers want to live in a re-creation of an East End slum – when they actually start doing it, reality soon sets in. Aberfan: The Young Wives Club ITV HUB On October 21, 1966, the collapse of a coal waste tip on to a junior school in the Welsh village of Aberfan claimed the lives of 116 children and 28 adults. Fifty years on, this shattering documentary focuses on a group of mothers who have met every week since that day to support each other in their grief. Wild West: America’s Great Frontier BBC iPLAYER Some stunning landscapes feature in this three-parter narrated by War & Peace’s James Norton. The series begins in the 200,000 square miles that make up the Great Basin desert of Nevada, a tough place that requires teamwork to survive – a reality that the wild horses roaming there experience every day.

ENTERTAINMENT

Speed With Guy Martin ALL 4 The mechanic heads to Nevada, and attempts to break the motorcycle land speed record – 376mph – for his latest daredevil quest.

LAST CHANCE

Bricks! BBC iPLAYER In 1976, 120 bricks were placed on the floor of London’s Tate Gallery – and described as art. This very watchable BBC4 documentary looks back, with considerable glee, on the months of controversy that followed. Until Thursday.
