The route runs along old roads and farm tracks, takes runners up to high mountain passes and down into valleys – and includes a rapid climb to 1,200ft – before the last downhill swoop to the finish. The mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter joins Suzy Klein for a live studio session. Anne Sofie, who has worked with Elvis Costello, is currently on a European tour with the Brooklyn Rider string quartet, giving concerts that include works by John Adams, Nico Muhly and Bjork.

The American singer-songwriter and her partner in music, Dave Rawlings, released their debut album back in 1996. Now, they have a new album out, which delves into their impressive back catalogue. Simple Minds played a live session of stripped-down acoustic music on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show a couple of years ago. This session got the band members back to their musical roots, and playing down the synths in favour of their Celtic soul. The band will bring some of that spirit to this concert, which comes live from London’s Hackney Empire.
