Eurovision Song Contest 2017

- Mike Mulvihill

Graham Norton, glass of wine in hand and tongue planted firmly in cheek, will have plenty of material to work with as he presents the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest from the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. You have to feel sorry for our entrant Lucie Jones (pictured, with Graham), though, who’s sure to get a frosty reception from the European voting public in the first contest to be held since the Brexit vote. The former X Factor contestant and star of the West End will be performing Never Give Up On You, which was co-written by Emmelie de Forest, who won for Denmark in 2013. Can she come up with the winning formula – or will the United Kingdom end up with the dreaded nul points? Tonight, 8pm, BBC1.
