Eurovision Song Contest 2017

8PM, BBC1

In 2009, having made it to week five of The X Factor’s live shows, Lucie Jones was ousted in favour of (believe it or not), Jedward. Fortunately, Lucie was soon snapped up by Cameron Mackintosh to star in the West End production of Les Miserables, and has since carved out a thriving career in musical theatre. And now, the 26-year-old from Wales is representing the UK in the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest, singing Never Give Up On You, in the Ukraine capital of Kiev. Graham Norton will be providing the commentary in his own inimitable style.

Doctor Who

After the Tardis responds to a distress call in deep space, the Doctor, Bill and Nardole find themselves fighting for their lives on a mining station, where 36 of the 40-strong crew have been murdered – but are still walking around. What starts out as a typically light-hearted story soon descends into one with a much darker heart…

Yorkshire Wolds Way With Paul Rose

7.30PM, BBC2
