Graham Norton will be perched in a studio in Kiev to bring us news of this evening’s Eurovision Song Contest, and he’ll be talking to Lucie Jones, the former X Factor competitor who’ll be representi­ng the United Kingdom. Lea Michele, the American actress and singer, and the theatre director Nicholas Hytner are also on the show.

The Forsytes Concludes

Fleur, the once flighty daughter of Soames Forsyte , has changed her ways, and is now determined to be a loyal wife to her husband, Michael. Her past doomed love affair still haunts her, but she manages to keep her head down – then, Michael’s young cousin, Dinny, comes to stay. A strong cast and an excellent script, from Lin Coghlan, give this final eight-part adaptation real energy.

Saturday Night At The Movies

5PM, CLASSIC FM

The Bafta television awards will be dished out tomorrow night, and Andrew Collins anticipate­s the glittering event with a selection of music from some of the nominated shows. He will include scores from The Night Manager, Planet Earth II and National Treasure on this afternoon’s show, and he’ll also be talking to Ridley Scott and featuring music from the Alien films.

Eurovision Song Contest

Listening to Eurovision is a less cheesy experience than watching it on television. If you really are only interested in the songs, then Ken Bruce will be doing the honours on Radio 2, and sparing you the sight of all that dry ice and Euro-bling.

Blinded By War

Ray Sherriff, Ray Hazan and

Terry Bullingham share the same terrible experience of losing their sight in conflict. Sherriff was blinded while fighting at Arnhem during the Second World War. Hazan lost his sight and his right hand as a result of a parcel bomb in Northern Ireland in 1973. Bullingham lost his sight during an Argentinia­n air assault in the Falklands War. Using archive recordings and interviews, Adam Scourfield shares their stories.
