The former footballer and now pundit Ian Wright almost bursts with happiness when he goes round to Colin Murray’s house for an interview, and gets two presents – a lightsaber and a box of tissues.
Ian is a big Star Wars fan, and also much given to breaking into tears, so the presents hit the spot. There’s a relaxed atmosphere to this chat, making it an entertaining listen. It’s also an emotional one, especially when Ian talks about his family and his upbringing.

Rubashov, an old Bolshevik, has been thrown into prison, accused of treason against the very state he helped to create. He is subjected to interrogations and psychological torture, and spends much of his time brooding on the events that brought him into the grim, unnamed jail. Written in 1940 by Arthur Koestler, and drawing on Stalin’s murderous purges, the novel has been dramatised for radio by Simon Scardifield.

Andrew Collins features themes and scores from crime films. He includes Thomas Newman’s music for The Green Mile, and evocative music from Nino Rota for The Godfather.
The Honky Tonk Nun

Emahoy Tsegue-Maryam Guebrou was born in Addis Ababa, studied music in Europe, and had her life disrupted by wars and conflict. Her calling as a nun has led her into a life of great sacrifice, but she remains a cheerful and joyous exponent of honky-tonk piano playing. Kate Molleson meets one of music’s saints.
