JEREZ, SPAIN (£6, half bottle, Tesco) Pour over vanilla ice cream or serve ice cold with coffee. It’s sweet sherry, with burnt toffee, fig and date notes.

DOURO VALLEY, PORTUGAL (£9, 50cl bottle, M&S) The lurid pink colour is loud but it has strawberry notes and a long finish. Drink with puddings, always serve chilled.
