MARVELLOUS: Marvel movies coming soon
Thor: Ragnarok (8pm, Sky Premiere) is part of the multi-billion-dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highest-grossing film franchise of all time. Here’s what’s in store…
Avengers: Infinity War (Sky Store) Picking up directly after events in Thor: Ragnarok, this third Avengers movie broke box-office records, and features virtually all the characters from the past 18 Marvel movies, including Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange (centre).
Ant-Man And The Wasp (In cinemas now) A follow-up to the 2015 Ant-Man film, with Paul Rudd, this is set between the events of
Captain America: Civil War
(2016) and Infinity War. The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly, left) is the first woman to get her name in a Marvel film title, but the muchcited lack of female Marvel movie superheroes is set to change… Captain Marvel (March 2019) Avengers: Infinity War features a sly reference to this hotly anticipated Marvel superhero. Brie Larson has been cast as Carol Danvers, the US Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien, granting her some pretty awesome superpowers. Avengers 4 (May 2019) Fans will be eagerly awaiting the answers that this unnamed project – shot back-to-back with its predecessor – will provide. There’s more… Around 12 films are on the way to the big screen, among them sequels for Guardians Of The Galaxy and Black Panther (with Chadwick Boseman, right).
