With the unearthing of Hayley’s body bringing the investigation back into the media spotlight, the press are already out in force as, after last week’s cracking opening episode, Sunny and Cassie (Sanjeev Bhaskar and Nicola Walker) visit Middenham to talk to Hayley’s parents and twin sister. But after they meet a retired detective who worked on the original case, Cassie and Sunny are shocked when he declares it was fundamentally flawed from the start – and points them in the direction of a prime suspect who was, inexplicably, never charged.
