COURTING DISASTER

Courtroom scenes are never less than hilarious in Corrie, and Sally’s pre-trial hearing looks to be no exception when she sacks Paula and decides to represent herself. What could possibly go wrong? Armed with the knowledge that Imran is dating both Toyah and Leanne and having gained possession of Imran’s list of witnesses, what will Sally (pictured, with Duncan) do with the information? When Tim learns that Imran has threatened his wife, he goes into full Alpha Male mode. He is never more adorable than when he is protective – something that Gina is quick to notice. Oh, please don’t let Gina get her claws into Tim; Dev has only just removed the bandages from his liaison with her.

There was a spooky scene last week when Liz appeared without make-up, following the revelation that Hannah is Katie. She isn’t, but poor Liz doesn’t know that yet. She didn’t last more than half an episode without her slap, and its rainbow return was like the changeover from black and white TV to colour. She looked fine without, and it lent a vulnerability to Beverly Callard’s performance that was matched with a very impressive Charles Lawson (Jim) tearing up at Katie’s graveside.

Ken decides to have a go at writing short stories. It’s never good when he turns his hand to anything that smacks of the intellectual because it elevates his smugness to a whole new level.
