In 1969, Northern Ireland erupted in politically charged violence; over the next 30 years, 3,532 people were killed and 47,541 injured. But while politicians and diplomats around the world strove for a solution, conflict and murder became part of the daily routine in Northern Ireland, as ordinary civilians were killed, maimed and terrorised. This poignant, affecting documentary charts the Troubles through the stories of some of those bereaved by this brutal conflict, including Marie Newton (right), who is still scarred by the murder of her husband over 40 years ago.
