Tonight, eight young finalists will compete to be named one of the BBC Radio 2 Young Choristers Of The Year, each singing two items at MediaCityUK in Salford. The event is hosted by Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya, and the performances will be judged by the composer and conductor Bob Chilcott, plus Caroline Redman Lusher – director of Rock Choir, the world’s largest amateur choir – and Simon Lole, the former organist at Salisbury Cathedral.

The comedian Ross Noble presents this new, four-part spoof magazine show, which features strange stories from around Britain. Each episode sees him joined by a celebrity guest, who will be talking about a fictional project they are involved in; tonight, it’s the turn of Fern Britton, who is discussing her penchant for fighting animals. There’s also a report on the rise of pickpockets and how to protect ourselves, and an almost unbelievable story about an unlikely pregnancy in Yorkshire. None of it should be taken entirely seriously…
