The event is hosted by Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyangan­ya, and the performanc­es will be judged by the composer and conductor Bob Chilcott, plus Caroline Redman Lusher – director of Rock Choir, the world’s largest amateur choir – and Simon Lole, the former organist at Salisbury Cathedral.

Each episode sees him joined by a celebrity guest, who will be talking about a fictional project they are involved in; tonight, it’s the turn of Fern Britton, who is discussing her penchant for fighting animals. There’s also a report on the rise of pickpocket­s and how to protect ourselves, and an almost unbelievab­le story about an unlikely pregnancy in Yorkshire. None of it should be taken entirely seriously…
