Ian Lygo made his fi­nal ap­pear­ance on Chan­nel 5 quiz show 100% af­ter 75 con­sec­u­tive vic­to­ries. The show’s pro­duc­ers de­cided it was time he let some­one else have a chance. Lygo won £100 per pro­gramme.


Carol Vor­der­man left Chan­nel 4’s Count­down, hav­ing been part of the show since it be­gan in 1982. Dic­tionary Cor­ner’s Gyles Bran­dreth pre­sented her with flow­ers and Carol shed tears as the cred­its rolled.
