There is something deeply eccentric about the seaside town of Hastings. You can get a flavour of that oddness if you visit the town for its annual Jack In The Green May Day celebrations. These involve parades, dancing, weird costumes and participants painting themselves from head to toe in green. In this first of a new series, Mark Steel visits Hastings for an evening of comedy with the locals.
