THE INFINITE MONKEY CAGE MONDAY, 4.30PM, RADIO 4 ★★★★ Bill Bailey gets a lesson from the primatologist Jane Goodall about how to communicate with chimpanzees in this engaging episode of the series that combines science and entertainment.

PAUL SINHA’S GENERAL KNOWLEDGE WEDNESDAY, 6.30PM, RADIO 4 ★★★★ A big round of applause for everyone involved in this show. Paul Sinha, one of the quizzers from The Chase, delivers a funny routine to a 200-strong audience in a virtually recorded show that gives us the much-missed sense of interaction between performer and audience.

THE COUNTRY SHOW WITH BOB HARRIS THURSDAY, 9PM, RADIO 2 ★★★★ Scotty Mccreery, one of country music’s rising young stars, gives his British fans a live session from his Nashville home.
