TV ON DEMAND
ITV HUB HHHH Well-handled two-part drama about the honour killing case of Banaz Mahmod, starring Keeley Hawes as the DCI who is determined to see justice done.
Mike Bartlett’s drama follows the lives, loves and losses of the people who share a block of flats in Manchester. The impressive cast includes Alison Steadman, Adrian Lester, Rachael Stirling and Peter Davison, and it makes a promising start.
HARLAN COBEN’S SAFE
HHHH Michael C. Hall (Dexter) plays a widower whose daughter goes missing in this tense, British-set drama from the famed thriller writer. There’s the odd false note, but this is a solid series about dark secrets, and has only been available on Netflix up to this point.
BBC IPLAYER HHHH
A series about a single dad on the streets doesn’t sound like fun, but this US comedy from Donald Glover (Lando in Solo) is sharp, funny and unpredictable. Both seasons are recent additions to iplayer.
ATLANTA PICK OF THE WEEK LOVE LIFE
This romcom is the kind of show you can easily watch back to back – so it’s just as well the whole first season is available, with each part focused on a different relationship for New Yorker Darby (Anna Kendrick, right).
BBC IPLAYER HHHH
‘My truth is not my version, my truth is the way I remember it.’ Two-part documentary about Lance Armstrong from ESPN, the US network that also produced the excellent basketball series The Last Dance (Netflix). Armstrong talks extensively about his career and the scandal that derailed it, and comes across as a challenging personality.
LANCE AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS
BBC IPLAYER HHHHH
On Sunday, Michael Palin looks back on his TV travelling career in Michael Palin: My Travels Of A Lifetime (8pm, BBC2). And, if the clips in that show make you want to see more, plenty of his excellent travelogues are available on iplayer in full, from Around The World In 80 Days to Pole To Pole and Hemingway Adventure.
The pop group once won The X Factor – this series is their search for a new band.
