There is a lot going on below the surface in this show, which is loosely based on The Turn Of The Screw (see right). From Friday.

AMAZON PRIME NEW! THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND

(Episodes 1-2) HHHH This coming-of-age spin-off really hits its stride in episode two as the teens wander the world outside the college, encounteri­ng zombies and pondering the state of the world in the way that teenagers do.

This show has a freshness to it that the death-soaked original has long since lost. A new episode arrives every Friday.

DRAMA

(Season 1) HHHH After some odd opening scenes, this TV series take on Anthony Horowitz’s second Alex Rider book – Point Blanc – develops into something dark, pacey and exciting.

MOVIE THE BOYS

(Seasons 1-2) HHH Amazon’s dark and violent drama about corporate superheroe­s (or are they villains?) has taken some interestin­g turns in season two, and it’s not the end – a third is on the way. The season two finale arrives on Friday.

THE TURN OF THE SCREW

(1974) PG HHH A governess (Lynn Redgrave) is hired to care for the troubled orphans of Bly House in this adaptation of Henry James’s spooky tale. It looks terribly creaky next to The Haunting Of Bly Manor (see left), but has a certain rainy afternoon charm.
