Jake Gyllenhaal is good at mustering his darker side (see Nocturnal Animals, 10pm, Sony Movies), but has little traction here. He’s the soulless banker (right) whose wife dies in a car crash. Feeling nothing, he starts to take apart his life – literally – and makes an unlikely connection with a customer services worker (Naomi Watts).
