THE TRUMP SHOW

9PM, BBC2 ★★★★

The third and final part of this fairly one-sided account features insider tales from the front lines of Donald Trump’s fourth year in office. With an election looming, pressure to get support is high, but his road to possible victory hasn’t been plain sailing. He was accused of coercing Ukraine to look into rival Joe Biden, and the economy is in great peril, with Covid-19 killing more than 200,000 in the US. In the midst of this were mass protests after the police killing of black man George Floyd. To some, Trump (right) is untouchable – but is he? And will he win?

EAT WELL FOR LESS?

8PM, BBC1 ★★★

The Winbournes rely on dad James’s limited repertoire, and boredom has set in. Despite this, you’ll be astounded at how much they spend on food. Can Gregg and Chris convince mum Clare to help out, and teach daughter Rachel culinary skills before she goes to university? Also, the boys take a look at nutritious breakfast snacks.

PANDORA AND THE FLYING DUTCHMAN PG

● 8.15AM, TALKING PICTURES TV ★★★

Lush and romantic, this fairytale stars Ava Gardner as the enigmatic and adored singer who keeps men at a distance. Until, that is, James Mason’s ancient mariner sails into her life, carrying with him a melancholy curse.

UGLY HOUSE TO LOVELY HOUSE WITH GEORGE CLARKE

8PM, CH4 ★★★ Greg and Helen Watson have bought a cramped and quite dilapidated 1930s home in a pricey area of Sheffield, but they are desperate to move in before their third child arrives. Their budget is £120,000, but lockdown, torrential rain and design problems mean the project could collapse first...

THE APPRENTICE BEST BITS

9PM, BBC1 ★★★★

It’s time to see the highlights from arguably the best part of the show – the much-dreaded interview stage! Absolutely no stone is left unturned, and you will enjoy revisiting the cringeworthy takedown of Solomon Akhtar, plus Bianca Miller owning the room, and adviser Claude Littner at his very best. THE CHOP: BRITAIN’S TOP WOODWORKER

9PM, SKY HISTORY ★★★★

With its jaunty music, gentle sense of humour and magical carpentry creations, this contest is turning into a reliably cosy delight. Tonight, the contenders, including 19-year-old Sean (left), are challenged to create a Gothic children’s treehouse bedroom.

GHOST BUS TOURS

9PM, ITV2 ★★★

Rapper Lady Leshurr (left), reality star Jordan Davies and comedian Darren Harriott go spook-seeking at a sinister prison in eastern Europe. They are advised by ‘super freaky’ local guide Anton in their quest to summon three disturbing spirits from beyond the veil.

ED STAFFORD: FIRST MAN OUT

9PM, DISCOVERY ★★★

Ed has set himself a serious challenge for the finale. He is in the Chinese desert, facing Xinlei Wu (left), who is not only ex-chinese special forces, but also ex-french Foreign Legion. ‘Ed looks fitter in real life than on television,’ notes Wu, before a huge effort by both men across stunning landscapes.

MR INBETWEEN

10PM, FOX ★★★★ This nicely judged new Australian drama about the daily life of a hit man is light on violence, and has a wry sense of humour. The best scene in this opening episode is when Ray (Scott Ryan, left) is threatened by sweary youths while out eating an ice cream with his daughter – the look he gives them says a lot.

MARK KERMODE’S SECRETS OF CINEMA

10.45PM, BBC4 ★★★★ If you’re after scary films to watch at Halloween, that’s Mark Kermode’s speciality. The critic (left) wrote his university thesis on horror fiction, and uses a dizzying number of clips to make his points about the genre here, drawing from a much wider range of films than you’d expect.
