Set in London in the Regency period of the early 19th century and focusing on the lives and loves of ‘the Ton’ – the aristocrats at the very highest level of society – it’s a sort of sexed-up Jane Austen. There are beautiful women with heaving bosoms and brooding men who don’t mind getting their breeches off. And to top it all, it’s narrated by Dame Julie Andrews. Nicole
