NADIYA’S AMERICAN ADVENTURE
8PM, BBC1 ★★★★
Nadiya Hussain is fascinated with America, home to more immigrants than anywhere else, and so she’s heading over there to discover how the new arrivals have brought new cuisines with them. In this fun first part, she heads to New Orleans, where its history of European, African, Caribbean and, more recently, Asian settlers has resulted in a unique palate – and she’s just in time for Mardi Gras! Nadiya (right) bakes cakes that look like giant doughnuts, and makes a traditional crayfish dish with a delicious Vietnamese twist.
SNACKMASTERS: QUAVERS
8PM, CH4 ★★★
The series in which charming Fred Sirieix tasks top chefs with re-creating some beloved snacks returns for a new run. In this opener, chefs Aktar Islam and Anna Haugh tackle curly, cheesy Quavers. After perfecting their recipes, who will be judged the winner?
It’s nothing ground-breaking, but it’s a good bit of fun.
NEW ELIZABETHANS WITH ANDREW MARR
9PM, BBC2 ★★★★
In the second part of his look back at people who helped to shape the Queen’s reign, Andrew examines how Britain’s power and influence abroad changed, as did some odd attitudes to food. Some of the key figures here are Bob Geldof and the pioneering peace campaigner Helen John.
DEATH ROW’S WOMEN WITH SUSANNA REID
9PM, ITV ★★★★ Twenty-three years ago, Dallas housewife Darlie Routier was sentenced to death by lethal injection for killing her fiveyear-old son. Darlie denies the murder and, decades on, has refused a route off death row in exchange for admitting guilt. Susanna travels to Texas to hear her story. TESSA JONES

CELEBRITY SUPPLY TEACHER
10AM, 4.45PM, CBBC ★★★
The penultimate supply teacher is Neighbours star Alan Fletcher (left), who – after we see a clip of him on stage with his band, Waiting Room – launches into a geography lesson. This covers a lot of ground, and includes some good facts about bush tucker and dangerous animals.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT
★★★
Mark Feuerstein, whom some viewers may recognise as the friendly doctor from Royal Pains, plays an entirely different kind of medic in this creepy new-to-freeview case. Dr Barron (Feuerstein, left) is a sleazy celebrity plastic surgeon who, along with his girlfriend, is accused of rape.
TIN STAR: LIVERPOOL
9PM, SKY ATLANTIC ★★★★
The last series of Sky’s violent modern western moves to Liverpool, where the Worths – united, after so much bloodshed – work their way through a list of people they need to kill in order to finally find peace. Of all the family, Jim (Tim Roth, left) seems least likely to see that peace.
