CRACKERJACK! CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

-

6PM, CBBC ★★★★★ CBBC’S excellent revival returns in fine style, with Sam and Mark (left) leading festive-themed games and sketches. There are a couple of secret Santas running about, too, and BBC Breakfast presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt have their hair ruined on Splatterjack.

HOLLYOAKS FRIDAY FAVOURITES

7PM, E4 ★★★

This vintage run of episodes of Phil Redmond’s soap continues with an instalment from 1998, when Jeremy Edwards’s Kurt was still on the show. Kurt is on a roll at the family business here, but the same cannot be said for sister Lucy, while Mandy (Sarah Jayne Dunn, left) has gone missing.

THE ROAD TO CORONATION STREET

8.35PM, ITV3 ★★★★ This enjoyable drama about the soap’s origins comes from Daran Little, a veteran and writer for both Corrie and Eastenders.

It’s packed with good lines and great characters, especially Celia Imrie and Jessie Wallace (left) as Doris Speed and Pat Phoenix.

SIR STIRLING MOSS – THE UNCROWNED KING OF F1

9PM, SKY DOCUMENTARIES ★★★ This polished new documentary explores the life of Stirling Moss (left), who rose from teenage prodigy to racing superstar. He was never crowned world champion, but had won 16 Grand Prix races by the time he retired in 1962. (Sky 114, Virgin 277)

BIG ZUU’S CHRISTMAS EATS

10PM, DAVE ★★★

Big Zuu, whose enthusiasm levels are permanently set to 11, cooks for musical friends in a new two-parter. His first guest is Brit Award-nominated Loyle Carner (left), who really knows his way around food, too – the rapper runs a cookery school for children with ADHD, called Chilli Con Carner. RW
