8PM, TALKING PICTURES TV ★★★ Rumpole (Leo Mckern, left) delights in cocking a snook at authority, but the earthy barrister is far from the kind of cliched maverick you see all too often in modern crime and legal dramas. This is the first of a repeat from the start for the ITV drama about the ‘Old Bailey hack’.
