MICHAEL PALIN’S HIMALAYA: JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME
8PM, BBC2 ★★★★
In this lovely 90-minute trip down memory lane, Michael Palin recalls his 2003-04 trip to the Himalayas, when he got to fulfil a lifelong dream of exploring the world’s ‘sexiest mountain range’. It was an epic adventure that began in the famous Khyber Pass, and took him through Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tibet and Bangladesh. It was just a few years after 9/11, and some of the places he visited were regarded as highly dangerous, but, as always, Michael maintained his good humour throughout.
