9PM, BBC4 ★★★★ Mesmerising drama adapted by Andrew Davies from Roger Longrigg’s novel, first shown in 1989. Its main concern is Helena (a Bafta-winning Diana Rigg, left) and her obsessive love for her son (James Wilby) and hatred of his father (David Mccallum).
