It’s New Year’s Eve as we join Lee and Lucy (Lee Mack and Sally Bretton, right), but their house party has fallen flat – and, as the minutes tick down towards midnight, the spirit of goodwill is in short supply. Toby and Anna are bickering as usual, Lucy’s dad, Geoffrey, is as pompous as ever, mum Wendy is blind drunk, while Lee’s dad, Frank (Bobby Ball, in one of his last screen appearances), is being, well, rude and crude. And when they agree to reveal their New Year’s resolutions, things go from bad to worse, with moving and very funny results.
