Eric and Beth (Alex Norton and Arabella Weir) head to Cathy and Colin’s Highland retreat in a festive special that has fun with the coronavirus. ‘Now I know how Nelson Mandela must have felt,’ muses Christine (Elaine C. Smith, right) on lockdown in the gag-packed opening scenes, while all Cathy wants to do is drink, drink, drink. She’s an alcoholic and a deeply unhappy woman, and this episode confronts that – yet it also manages to capture that unique feeling of festive peace, and there’s big news from Ian and Gordon, too.
