ARCHERS UPDATE

The weak January sun struggles to send any ray of warmth and hope through the Grace Archer memorial stained-glass window as the hapless congregation squirm in their pews, listening to some wise – but not necessarily welcome – words from Alan the vicar. Ambridgers have spent Twixmas wrestling with their consciences in the wake of one ghastly revelation after another. Many of them must be wondering if they’ve wandered into a J.B. Priestley drama by mistake. David and Ruth struggle with a big decision about doing the right thing, and Justin – caught in the crossfire – tries to keep his head down. Lynda and Robert attempt to get a bit of perspective on it all, but as others suffer, life under Grundy roofs starts to feel a little rosier.
