Teddy boys invaded Ambridge in the 1960s, saboteurs have protested against the South Borsetshire Hunt, and addiction problems have been a running theme through the years in the everyday story of country folk.
Historian David Kynaston looks at seven decades of the Archers, and charts the many social changes that the fictional village has had to deal with.
JACK SAVORETTI’S MUSIC WITHOUT BORDERS
9PM, RADIO 2 HHHH
The English singer Jack Savoretti, who grew up listening to music from around the world, shares some favourite tracks. He opens his new series with music from Brazil, then takes in a great track from the Swedish duo First Aid Kit.
