SAVING MR BANKS (2013) PG

● 5PM, BBC2 ★★★ Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks star in a watchable but slightly underpowered factbased drama. It tells the story of how Walt Disney (Hanks) persuaded the uptight author P.L. Travers (Thompson) to let him make a film of her Mary Poppins stories. And he wasn’t taking no for an answer.
