10 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

Sally Webster’s attempt to make husband Kevin jealous by letting him believe she slept with Tyrone Dobbs went disastrously wrong. Kevin thumped Tyrone and told Sally (far right, with Tyrone, far left, and Kevin) that he was filing for divorce.

15 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

The show’s first gay kiss, between binman Ivan Jones (left, played by Daniel Brocklebank, currently Corrie’s vicar) and ex-drag queen Paul Lambert (right), drew more than 100 Ofcom complaints – but the soap was cleared by the television watchdog.

20 YEARS AGO – EASTENDERS

Mark Fowler took brutal revenge on Albert Square bad boy Nick Cotton for giving his brother Martin ecstasy. He spiked Nasty Nick’s drink and let him fall from a viaduct.

Nick (above) survived but needed a wheelchair.
