80 NOT OUT: THE SAVING OF ALBERT PERKS

Every day this week, we hear monologues performed by actors aged 80 and over. In this poignant opening story by Roy Apps, Bernard Cribbins (who turned 92 last week) returns to his role as Albert Perks from the 1970 film of The Railway Children. Albert, now retired, gets a visit from one of the children, and finds himself involved in terrible events playing out a long, long way from peaceful, rural Oakworth.
