In the 1960s, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan ruled the world of folk music and protest songs. The pair would turn up at civil rights marches and protest rallies, and seemed to be the prophets of changing times. Then, Bob headed off in other directions, leaving Joan holding Joan Baez (2.30pm, R4 Extra) the banner. Tomorrow will be Joan’s 80th birthday, and Radio 4 Extra marks the day with this look back at Bob and Joan’s musical collaborat­ion as well as their doomed romance.
