Joy didn’t even know was dead – then accidentally suffocated her while stopping her from calling out for help to a visiting neighbour.

15 YEARS AGO – EASTENDERS

The local residents came together for the funeral of Dennis Rickman, who’d died after being stabbed by one of Johnny Allen’s henchmen in a reprisal attack. Dennis’s heartbroken widow Sharon (pictured with him) swore revenge.

20 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

Zak Dingle (pictured) confessed to Cain that he was his real father, having had an affair with Cain’s mum Faith, Zak’s sisterin-law. Cain was angry at first, but the pair formed a bond, and Cain enjoyed his new position in the Dingle clan.
