ANGLING TO QUIT?

■ Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer are promising at least one more series of BBC2’S Gone Fishing. ‘I don’t want us to outstay our welcome,’ says Paul (above left, with Bob). ‘We’ll take a view once we’ve filmed the next series, but we wouldn’t want to inflict too much of ourselves on people.’

■ Matt Lucas is determined to slim down after scoffing cakes on Bake Off and eating chocs backstage while in the West End in Les Misérables. ‘I’ve put on weight to the point where I fill the entire screen when I’m on a Zoom call,’ jokes Matt (left).

■ All Creatures Great & Small’s Anna Madeley set herself a New Year’s resolution inspired by the cooking prowess of her character Mrs Hall (right). Anna plans to devise and make a new dish each month and says, ‘I’m determined to carry it through in 2021.’

■ Count Christopher Eccleston out if the BBC ever plans to bring back a previous Time Lord when Jodie Whittaker eventually leaves Doctor Who. Christopher (left), who occupied the Tardis in 2005, says, ‘Hell will freeze over before that happens.’
