NO BLONDE AMBITION

n Anna Friel had to wear a wig for the upcoming third series of Marcella after previous disasters trying to dye her dark hair blonde. Anna (pictured as Marcella) says, ‘I’ve done that three times in my life and it went green and I had to cut it all off. I think the department did a really good job of making it look authentic.’ n Anne Hegerty (pictured) wasn’t amused when asked to do an interview for ITV’S new series The Chaser’s Road Trip – after a 12-hour flight to Tokyo. ‘Anne is not one of life’s great travellers,’ says her co-star Mark Labbett. ‘How that producer is still alive, I do not know!’ n Victoria’s Jenna Coleman is unsure about how long she’ll play the ageing queen. Jenna, 34, says, ‘There’s only so “old” I can go as the queen [pictured] without hours of prosthetic make-up applied to my face on every day of filming, a route I’m not sure I want to follow.’

n Filming comedy Staged was a military operation for David Tennant (pictured) and his wife Georgia, who have five children. ‘We had to fit the scenes around school dropoffs, baby naps and unloading the dishwasher. There was a certain urgency,’ says David.
