Zulu (1964) The Battle of Rorke’s Drift is depicted in this classic British drama, starring Michael Caine. The Zulus were fighting for their lands in what is now Kwazulu-natal in South Africa. Amazon Prime, Sky/now TV.

Tsotsi (2006)

This Oscar-winning crime drama is set in modern-day South Africa, and follows a young man (Presley Chweneyagae) who falls into the violent gang culture of Johannesburg. Buy or rent on Amazon.

Invictus (2009)

A celebration of

South Africa’s success during the 1995 Rugby World Cup – and of the country’s most iconic President, Nelson Mandela, played by Morgan Freeman.
