1 MAKING MUSIC

Abbey Road is my happy place, where I’ve recorded, or edited and mixed all my albums. I still get butterflies every time I come here. I was first in the massive Studio One as a terrified 19-year-old, as an ‘extra’ trumpet player for a London Symphony Orchestra recording. In the coffee breaks I’d hide in the toilet because I was so shy. I have a number of trumpets but I’m holding the one I couldn’t do without, given to me about 20 years ago by the parents of a friend of mine who died.
