DEATH IN PARADISE
9PM, BBC1 ★★★★
Well, it seems hypochondriac DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little, right) isn’t imagining things when a bad reaction to fly bites lands him in hospital for the night. But his keen detective sense is piqued when a nurse is found dead in a locked room with a note in her hand, in what seems like a suicide. But Neville doesn’t think it adds up, so he sets Florence, J.P. and Marlon on the hunt. Could Neville’s fellow patients have seen something? And why is the ward’s doctor acting so shifty? There are also some fun moments when we see J.P. bonding with protege Marlon.
GEORGE CLARKE’S AMAZING SPACES
8PM, CH4 ★★★
We all have different ideas of the ‘good life’ of retirement, and for one lady, that’s a cosy minivan. Novice builder Mandy gets advice from George on turning her dream into reality. A slightly tougher build is
Tim’s incredible plan to make a barn out of old driftwood and discarded windows.
THE CHASERS ROAD TRIP: TRAINS, BRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES
9PM, ITV ★★★★
The boffins are on home turf to face some of their toughest ever opponents – children! Anne, Mark and Shaun are on a quest to discover if nature or nurture plays the biggest role in intelligence development, and they get thwarted quite spectacularly in the process.
ROBSON GREEN: WALKING COAST TO COAST
9PM, CH5 ★★★
Robson’s joyous exploration along Hadrian’s Wall is coming to an end this week, and he enters wondrous Cumbria. He gets an insight into the Romans as he looks at graffiti on the stones, makes rings of traditional Cumberland sausages, and takes a flight over Carlisle. TESSA JONES

STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE
6PM, PICK ★★★★
One of the great double acts of Deep Space Nine is naive Dr Bashir (Alexander Siddig, left) and devious spy Garak. Here, they are paired on a James Bond-style holodeck adventure in which the stakes are raised after a crisis elsewhere. It is tremendous fun to watch.

DAMIEN
9PM, FOX ★★
What is Damien from The Omen up to now? In this new, ten-part drama, he’s a photographer with no memory of his childhood, who seems like a nice person. He starts to learn his true heritage here, and it’s in those flashes – especially those that involve Barbara Hershey’s messenger (left) – that this dull show comes alive.
RESIDENT ALIEN
9PM, SKY ONE ★★★★
Firefly’s Alan Tudyk (left) plays a ruthless alien who crashes in a small town and then masquerades badly as a doctor in this new US comedy mystery. It’s a good show, but a really, really good performance – you can virtually see the alien thinking under his adopted human shell.
THE EICHMANN SHOW
9.30PM, BBC4 ★★★★
Martin Freeman (left) stars in a polished, dramatised account of how a dedicated team ensured thatthetrialofnaziwarcriminal Adolf Eichmann was televised. Freeman plays the producer Milton Fruchtman, constantly running from one problem to the next.

uuOUR TRUTH, THEIR LIES
2.15PM, RADIO 4 HHHH
Mad conspiracy theories flourish in these dark times, filling people’s heads with bizarre ideas and drawing susceptible people into a weird world of plots, cabals and fake news. Rational thinking goes out of the window as proponents of these theories exert their dangerous influence. In this play by Hugh Costello, we hear how a normal happy family is torn apart when one member is drawn into the dark labyrinth of lies, lethal misinformation and slander.
