Dexter Fletcher has been involved with some great British musicals. He played Baby Face in Bugsy Malone, and has directed a number of others, including the uplifting Sunshine On Leith. Dexter joins Dermot this morning – along with John Owen-jones, who has starred in Les Miserables and The Phantom Of The Opera – as part of Radio 2’s weekendlong celebration of musicals.

Peter Andre played Teen Angel in Grease in 2019, and has every hope that he will be taking on that role again this summer in a UK tour of the musical. If all goes well, Peter will also play Vince Fontaine and the Sergeant, and dance to some slick Grease routines choreographed by Arlene Phillips. Peter joins Rylan Clarkneal to talk about the musical and how he’s longing to get back on stage in front of a live audience.

Once, identical twins Jim and Mike were close, but over the years, a rift has grown between them. Now that they are middle-aged men, they have to deal with the deaths of their parents while still picking over the bones of past feuds. Peter Sullivan and Sam Troughton play the brothers in this brooding drama, which looks at nature, nurture and blood ties.

Scottish winter, Glasgow is filled with great live music from the Celtic Connections festival. This year’s event is online, and features performances from Europe, North America and Africa.
